The Rx.com Mod Team has created this Service Play sub-forum in order to supply an area for Rx Service Play Posters to expand upon their posting topics without creating a logjam in the main forum where the three principle threads are maintained..

Posters can track services here if they care to but we will need any trackers to do so in an accurate and civil manner. We did not create this area for posters to ridicule or bash any services..

You can also discuss who is hot and who is not. The general state of the pay for plays industry and any other subject or topic related to service plays.

You can also create individual threads about specific services and discuss them freely but civilly. Again bashing and abusive treatment of any services will not be tolerated.

Please remember, this forum is not here for regular posters who cap their own games to post ther daily plays. Please use our individual sport forums to post your plays. Professional cappers (those that sell plays) must remain in the Site Promotion Forum.

The Rx.com will not tolerate posters that post false records of any services they track. Please be truthful if you decide to track a particular service.

Lastly The Rx Moderators are appealing to you our everyday posters to report any promotional threads or posts that are made by services or individual touts. No links or contact information to an individual service will be allowed. Just the name of the service. Please report any threads or posts that are promotional attempts by services and touts to use this forum to promote themselves..

Posters can easily report a promotional post by using the triangular Report-a-Post Icon at the bottom left of all post boxes. The poster name of any poster who reports a post that is out of line will be kept strictly confidential.

I will leave this thread open for a month to take questions and do my best to answer them. I will check in daily but am off on Wednesday and Thursday.

I hope this additional Service Play Forum will satisfy those posters that would like to widen the scope of topics relating to service plays and the industry in general to have their own threads. Mods will be liberal as possible regarding topics but this forum was specifically created to allow you more freedom to express your ideas regarding service plays and related subject matter. No off topic threads will be allowed.

Thank you, wilheim

Monday's Best NCAAB Bet

Pittsburgh Panthers at West Virginia Mountaineers (-2, 130)

Mountaineers coach Bob Huggins claims his team isn’t wearing down and has no issues with depth. The scoreboard seems to indicate otherwise.

"They play a hundred of them in the NBA against the best athletes in the world,'' Huggins said. "A hundred of them. They seem to keep playing. We're fine. We've just got to make some shots.''

But the team didn’t make many shots in a 66-50 loss at Villanova on Saturday. West Virginia struggled against a physical and faster Wildcats team, going as deep as it could into its bench. In recent games against Louisville and Cincinnati, Huggins played a mere seven. He went eight deep against Seton Hall and attempted to go with a nine man rotation against the Wildcats. But the results didn’t pan out. In the loss to Villanova he tried to give some of his starters a rest, but recently reinstated forward Casey Mitchell logged just 13 minutes and Jonnie West played only a couple.

Overall, the West Virginia bench combined for 13 points on 5-of-16 shooting and committed four turnovers.

Meantime, the Panthers come calling off a 71-59 win over Cincinnati that saw eight different players make a basket. The turnaround from a Saturday game to a Monday game also is West Virginia’s shortest break all season between contests.

Hopefully they got to bed early – they are going to need their rest.

Pick: Pittsburgh

Pick 'n' roll:

Monday's best basketball bets

NBA

Los Angeles Lakers at Memphis Grizzlies (3.5, 195)

No team in the league dominates the offensive paint like the Grizzlies. Memphis averages an NBA-best 49.8 points per game in the paint this season. But with the stellar play of forward Zach Randolph, it’s surprising those numbers aren't actually higher.

Randolph was named the Western Conference Player of the Month for January for keeping his team in the playoff hunt despite a suspension to guard O.J. Mayo. Without Mayo, the team has relied on its low-post attack and Z-Bo has delivered.

The former Michigan State star is averaging 20.3 points and 13.3 rebounds per game.

"It's definitely an honor for me," Randolph said. "It's my first time to win Player of the Month. Individual awards are great, but my focus is on leading this team to the playoffs. I'm glad were having success as a team, and hopefully we keep our momentum going."

Memphis split its two games against the Lakers this season, but Randolph missed the first. In the second, a 98-96 Grizzlies win, Randolph had 13 points, eight rebounds and four assists. Overall, the Lakers have a very mediocre post defense, giving up more than 40 points per game in the paint.

Look for Randolph to continue to take advantage.

Pick: Grizzlies

NCAAB

Pittsburgh Panthers at West Virginia Mountaineers (-2, 130)

Mountaineers coach Bob Huggins claims his team isn’t wearing down and has no issues with depth. The scoreboard seems to indicate otherwise.

"They play a hundred of them in the NBA against the best athletes in the world,'' Huggins said. "A hundred of them. They seem to keep playing. We're fine. We've just got to make some shots.''

Ice picks:

Monday's best NHL bets

Ottawa Senators at Vancouver Canucks (-239, 5.5)

Ottawa might need to petition the league to play the entire game with a man advantage to have a chance. The Senators have lost nine straight overall, giving up an average of 4.2 goals per game over that span. Of the nine losses, five have come by two or more goals.

And the goaltending is doing the team no favors. In his first start since the All-Star break, Brian Elliott was shelled for three goals on 13 shots in a 5-3 loss to the Islanders. Backup Robin Lehner has been pretty awful as well, coughing up 10 goals in his past three starts.

"We need better goaltending," Ottawa head coach Cory Clouston said. "I don't know how else to say it. We need saves early on. We shouldn't have come out of the period tied 3-3. At least a one-or two-goal lead for sure."

It might not matter who is in the net against the Canucks. Vancouver would score on a brick wall at this point, totaling 23 goals in the past five games – all wins. Over their past 10, the Canucks have banged home 10 goals on the man advantage.

Overall, the Canucks have won five of the team’s past six meetings, including a 6-2 win earlier this season.

Pick: Canucks

Atlanta Thrashers at Toronto Maple Leafs (-125, 5.5)

Think the injury to Thrashers defenseman Tobias Enstrom wasn’t a big deal? Since breaking a finger before the All-Star game, the team has gone 1-4 without him. In the losses, the team has given up a staggering 19 goals.

“Obviously Toby has been an incredibly important part of our team,” Thrashers coach Craig Ramsay said. “He’s been a big part of this organization. We are going to miss him. It is a great opportunity for other guys to step in and fill that spot. Guys get a better chance to play and more ice time. If you look at what happens to our team, nobody is going to feel sorry for us. We have to fight through injuries.”

Since Enstrom was hurt, the over has hit in three of five games.

And it’s not like Toronto is playing defensive hockey either. The over has hit six times in the past 10 games for the Maple Leafs as the team is coming off a 6-2 loss to the Sabres. In two previous meetings between these two teams, a 6-3 Atlanta win and a 9-3 Toronto victory, they have combined for 21 goals with a staggering nine coming on the power play.

Expect the goal judges to get plenty of work in this one.

Pick: Over

Bettors' best friend (BBF): Monday's wagering tips

Injury to remember

Josh Selby, Kansas Jayhawks – Selby missed Saturday’s blowout victory over Nebraska and is listed as questionable for Monday’s tilt with Missouri. Selby had scored at least 12 points in three straight games before spraining his left ankle and averages 12 points at 3.2 assists per game. The Jayhawks are pegged as 10-point favorites with the total pegged at 154.

Key trends

NCAAB: Kansas has covered in each of its last five meetings with Mizzou and heads into Monday’s game having covered in three straight overall.

NCAAB: West Virginia has played under the total in five straight contests.

NBA: Minnesota Timberwolves have dropped eight of their last 10 games against the spread and each of their last four games have played under the total.

NBA: Memphis Grizzlies are riding a 23-9 run against the spread overall.

NBA: Cleveland Cavaliers have lost 23 straight games and 33 of their last 34. The Cavs are 3-1-1 ATS in their last five outings.

NBA: Utah has covered just five times over the last 20 games.

NHL: The New York Rangers have lost four straight games for the first time this season and have lost 11 of their last 12 games against Detroit.

Number of note

4.2 – Goals per game the Ottawa Senators are allowing over a nine-game losing streak. The Sens are coming off a 5-3 loss to the lowly Islanders after getting outgunned 7-5 by Detroit in the game before that. It doesn’t get any easier for Ottawa as the club visits a Vancouver club that has won five straight games, allowing just six goals over that span.

Notes and tips

The Houston Rockets have suspended guard Aaron Brooks for Monday’s game against the Denver Nuggets because he walked off the court and into the locker room after being subbed out midway through an overtime win over Memphis on Saturday. Brooks, who averages 12.2 points and 4.1 assists per game, obviously isn’t happy about his role as a reserve at the moment. He has talent and won last season’s Most Improved Player award, but isn’t fitting in well with coach Rick Adelman’s share-the-ball offense.

Peter Forsberg is officially making a comeback with the Colorado Avalanche, though the team still isn’t sure when he’ll suit up. The 37-year-old center has been working out with the team over the last week or so and made up his mind to return to the NHL over the weekend. Word has it that he’s skating well and appears healthy. The team hasn’t said who he’ll play with yet, but he should help out a power play that checks in just under 20 percent on the season. Colorado is set as a +120 underdog at Phoenix on Monday.

Don’t look now, but Carmelo Anthony trade talks are heating up again. ESPN’s Chris Broussard reports that Denver and New York are negotiating again with Minnesota as the all-important third team in a rumored deal that would move Eddy Curry’s contract and Anthony Rondolph to the T-Wolves, Corey Brewer and Wilson Chandler to Denver and ‘Melo to the Knicks. There is also some discussion that a first-round pick would have to be involved somehow.

The Toronto Maple Leafs’ Phil Kessel hasn’t scored a goal in 10 games and the mercurial winger isn’t happy. After being benched in Saturday’s 6-2 loss to the Buffalo Sabres, Kessel shed some light on his relationship with coach Ron Wilson and his future with the team. “No, me and Ron don't really talk,” Kessel said when asked if Wilson had spoke to him about the slump. “That's all I have to say about that. "I don't really know what to say about that any more. I'm trying. Obviously, it's not going right. It might not be working out here. What are you going to do?"
